Yet Another Limited Edition TWSBI – This Time It’s the Mini AL

It’s raining limited editions! Yes, TWSBI is back at it with another limited edition color for the Mini AL called the Mint Blue.

While this has been circulating within the fountain pen community since last week, it was only on Monday that TWSBI took it on Instagram to make their announcement.

The Diamond Mini AL is a smaller version (5.5in when posted and 4.6in when capped) of the better known 580AL. Another difference between the Mini and the 580 is that you can post the cap at the back of the Mini.

Let’s Talk About the Color

It’s not easy to tell from the photos but the Mint Blue reminds me of the 580AL Turquoise that they released in 2017. They also said on Instagram that this is “slightly more blue” than the Emerald TWSBI 580AL.

This isn’t the first time TWSBI used an old special edition color from a different model to a new one. One of their most recent ones, this year’s purple TWSBI ALR is actually similar to the 2015 purple 580AL. This must be a pattern that TWSBI follows or is trying to follow for their fountain pens.

So if you missed out on the Turquoise 580AL, you might want to get your hands on the upcoming Diamond Mini, which is scheduled to release on August 29th.

Inks to Pair this Pen with

Quite a lot. The fountain pen world is overflowing with blues, greens, and turquoises.
